It consists of four stages and gives students a clear path to educational success from the age of 5 to 19.
This Curriculum mainly includes the study of key subjects: English, Math, and Sciences.
Learners start at year 9 with IGCSE courses about the requirements of the Ministry of Education in Egypt. A Levels are designed to be an in-depth two-year program in Years 11 and 12.
IGCSE assessment is conducted by either of the three assessment bodies: Edexcel (or London Examinations), Cambridge International Education (CIE), and Oxford International AQA Examinations.
In early grades, students learn the Arabic alphabet, basic vocabulary, and simple sentence structures. As they progress, they study grammar, reading comprehension, and writing skills. In middle school, they analyze classical and modern Arabic literature, poetry, and rhetorical devices. High school students master advanced grammar, critical reading, and essay writing, preparing them for academic and professional communication in Modern Standard Arabic.
Students develop critical reading and analysis skills through classic and modern literature, including novels, plays, and poetry. In primary school, they focus on comprehension and storytelling. In middle school, they explore themes, characters, and writing techniques. At the IGCSE and A-Level, they study Shakespeare, 19th-century literature, and contemporary works, engaging in deeper literary analysis and essay writing.
Students progress from basic arithmetic and geometry in primary school to algebra, statistics, and trigonometry in middle school. At the IGCSE level, they study advanced topics like functions and probability. A-Level students specialize in Pure Mathematics, Mechanics, or Statistics, with an emphasis on problem-solving, calculus, and real-world applications.
In primary school, students learn about nature, the human body, and basic physical principles. As they advance, science is divided into biology, chemistry, and physics. Biology covers human anatomy, genetics, and ecosystems. Chemistry introduces atomic structure, chemical reactions, and organic chemistry. Physics focuses on motion, forces, electricity, and thermodynamics.
Students study history, geography, and civics, beginning with basic knowledge about Egypt’s geography and famous historical figures. They then explore ancient civilizations, Egyptian and Arab history, world geography, and political structures. Finally, high school students analyze modern global issues, economic systems, and governance.
Religious education focuses on the Quran and Hadith teachings for Muslim students and the Bible for Christian students. Younger students learn prayers, moral lessons, and religious stories. Older students study deeper theological concepts, interpretations, and the role of religion in society, along with discussions on ethics and contemporary issues.
